The most revered deity in the Igbo pantheon, Ala is the goddess of the earth, morality, fertility, and creativity. As the ruler of the underworld, she holds the spirits of the ancestors in her womb. All laws and traditions (Omenala) are ultimately dictated by her, making her the ultimate judge of human actions.
